The Montana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is encouraging entrepreneurs to submit their business ideas for consideration at the third annual “Shark Tank” style live pitch competition coming this spring.  The competition will be held at the Montana SBDC Invest in Success small business conference on March 15–16 in Havre.

Governor Bullock, Director O'Leary Join Groundbreaking Ceremony for Expansion of 'A Carousel for Missoula'


A Carousel for Missoula celebrated the groundbreaking on its 640 square foot expansion Monday, Nov. 9. A Carousel for Missoula received a $100,000 tourism infrastructure grant from the Montana Office of Tourism and Business Development to support the expansion.

New online hub features 'Montana's Ultimate Road Trips'

There’s nothing like a road trip and nowhere better to take one than Montana. That’s the message the Department of Commerce is spreading to potential travelers worldwide through a partnership with National Geographic Travel.
“Montana’s Ultimate Road Trips,” a new online hub at the National Geographic Travel website, highlights eight routes representing every region of the state. Using the reach of the National Geographic brand, the Department of Commerce seeks to maximize the economic impact of tourism by encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore more of the state.

Tourism Grants Awarded

Governor Steve Bullock and Montana Department of Commerce Director Meg O’Leary announced the first round of tourism grants under a new program it launched July 1, 2015. Awarded funds totaling $718,053 will support 12 projects designed to develop and enhance Montana’s nearly $4-billion tourism industry.
