Southwest Montana Headwaters RC&D

Headwaters Resource Conservation and Development Area, Inc. provides economic development assistance, serving as a grass-roots organization for eight counties. Its basic goal is to improve the economic and social well-being of the region through conservation, development, and proper use of natural and human resources. Headwaters RC&D will assist the USDA and other federal, state and local agencies in establishing conservation and development priorities for the region, thus playing a significant role in resource conservation and economic development in southwest Montana.

Southeastern Montana Development Corporation

The Southeastern Montana Development Corporation represents a group of concerned counties and communities in Southeastern Montana that came together in 1997 to provide local financial support for economic development. The joint participation of these counties and communities allows for synergy and prevents duplication of efforts, while providing a vehicle agency located locally to receive funding and administer services for economic development.

The organization's primary purpose of stabilizing existing businesses and encouraging growth of business in Southeastern Montana is provided by the following services: grant administration, business loans, business technical assistance, and business training.

Great Falls Development Authority, Inc.

Great Falls Development Authority, Inc. (GFDA) plays an active role in building the economy of Great Falls and Cascade County. GFDA is the marketing arm of the organization. Using community donated capital campaign funds GFDA has completed an assessment of the area and identified targeted industries that best match the available assets. A long term marketing plan has been developed which includes working with site selectors and becoming a known presence at trade shows. GFDA's affiliate, High Plains Financial Inc., serves a seven-county region by providing access to business capital through a variety of loan programs. Both corporations work to develop the local and surrounding economies through business recruitment, target marketing, business financing, market research, business technical assistance and training, and government contracting.

Bear Paw Development Corporation

Bear Paw Development Corporation is a private, non-profit organization created for the purpose of administering programs to help improve regional economic conditions in Hill, Blaine, Liberty, Phillips and Chouteau Counties, and the Fort Belknap and Rocky Boy's Indian Reservations. Bear Paw works toward this goal by coordinating economic development planning and project implementation among its member entities, assisting local governments in planning public works and coordinating public and private investments, and by engaging in research, planning and advisory functions appropriate to the attainment of its objectives.

Montana Business Assistance Connection, Inc., (formerly Gateway Economic Development Corp.) a non-profit economic development organization, has as its mission the creation and retention of new jobs in Lewis and Clark, Broadwater, Jefferson, and Meagher Counties. MBAC provides access to capital and business technical assistance to micro and small businesses as well as regional planning services. In addition, MBAC has business retention, expansion, and recruitment programs.

Kalispell Chamber of Commerce

The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce is committed to enhancing and sustaining Flathead Valley business and community vitality. The Chamber provides a variety of member driven services to enhance the business environment and develop new opportunities for existing businesses to grow. The Kalispell Chamber of Commerce established the Flathead Regional Business Center (FRBC) in June 2003. The Business Center is a one-stop business technical assistance location. The FRBC consists of the Chamber, Flathead Convention and Visitors Bureau, Kalispell Small Business Development Center, Montana Manufacturing Extension Center, MilTech, Flathead Job Service Business Advocates, and Flathead Valley Community College training.
